Everything is GOOD!

James 1:16-18
16 Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

When we compare our life with Tae-Ho, it seems all of our difficulties and challenges are small compared to his. Tae-Ho was born with deformities, abandoned at birth, and faced with a short life span. Everything seemed to be against him but yet he accepted his past and made best of what he has. Doctors didn't expect him to live past ten and now has already passed his 11th birthday. There is a life saying that goes, "If life gives you lemons; make lemonade!". This is exactly what Tae-Ho did.

As followers of Christ, when are life is filled with lemons we make lemonade because the lemons are a gift. "Every good and perfect gift is form above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." Brothers and sisters, life get very difficult at times but we need to realize that all the pain and sufferings are a perfect gift from God. We're so focused on what's going on now, and we're so impatient people, we cannot look ahead towards the future. Instead we complain on what's going on in the present.

Ultimately God has a perfect plan for all of us. Even through the difficult times, it was according to his perfect plan. His perfect plan also included sacrificing His one and only Son for us.

Brothers and sisters, rejoice in your sufferings and rejoice in your happiness for our God is good at all times and will take of us until the end!

Questions to Think About:
1. Why do we complain of what we don't have instead of appreciating what we do have?
2. How can we make the best of a bad situation?
3. What promises of God do you hold on to for encouragement?
4. How can you view your struggles and hardship differently?

Look!!! Tae-Ho has a girl in love with him!

1. Why do we complain of what we don't have instead of appreciating what we do have?
We complain of what we don't have instead of appreciating what we do have because most of us don't really fully realize what God has done for us by sending his one and only son for us. But, we should appreciate what we have cause other people may not have any of the item's, love & other stuffs that we have right now; we should also know that God is someone or something that we have that we should be thankful for.
2. How can we make the best of a bad situation?
We can make the best of a bad situation by many ways. It kind of depends on what situation it is. Sometimes, we can pray to God or talk to a pastor.
3. What promises of God do you hold on to for encouragement?
The promises of God that I hold on to for encouragement is that he'll always forgive us and that he'll always love us no matter what.(: I hold on to this promise because knowing this when I sometimes get mad or feel upset, I could know and remember that God's always by my side.
4. How can you view your struggles and hardship differently?
I can view my struggles and hardship differently by praying to God more, reading the bible & by just trusting Him more.

1. We complain because we know there's always something better like the I-PHONE and you all know what I mean by that :), but ulitmately the best thing we can have is Jesus nd how he died for us.

2. I guess not complain I mean i complain that we have so homework at school, but I know the high-schoolers in IB are way more tired than I am so why complain?

3. The rainbow. In the Old Testement, God made a promise that he would never flood the Earth again and that hasn't happened, so eveytime I see a rainbow i know God is with always and FOREVER

4. I guess just knowing that Jesus never complian and died gloirfing his name to the end and I want able to putral that in my school with my friends reminding them,"Oh don't forget to memorize the verse for church" and to be able to stay in the conversation when my christan friends talk God, and r other things :)

aww~ haha, this was very touching..

1. Why do we complain of what we don't have instead of appreciating what we do have? Because humans have the wrong thinking that the things we have isn't good enough and they are not satisfied with it.

2. How can we make the best of a bad situation? I think that no matter how the bad the situation is, when you go through it with the prayer and depend on God, you will taste the joyfulness at the end.

3. What promises of God do you
hold on to for encouragement? That Jesus is coming back one day and the believers will have a eternal life with God in heaven with no suffering and pain

4. How can you view your struggles and hardship differently?
I can view it as just thinking that it is just a part of process of life and telling yourself that I can do this and saying I'm sure that we will have a joy at the end.
